WHY HYDRA
The only complete OC sandbox for Ryzen. Processor, memory and an NVIDIA or Radeon graphics card: tuning, tests, diagnostics and monitoring in one program. Most processor and graphics card settings work without a restart.
One author, from the very beginning. I am 1usmus, and I have always carried HYDRA on my own: research on real hardware, the code, the tests. I have been working with hardware since 2017. Before HYDRA I made DRAM Calculator for Ryzen, the tool people use to tune memory on Ryzen: on TechPowerUp alone it was downloaded 2 million times, and in HYDRA its successor is DCFR. ClockTuner for Ryzen followed in 2020. HYDRA grew out of this experience, and I have been developing it since 2021.
What I did first
- SCAN CPU — automatic Curve Optimizer search for every Ryzen core.
- HYBRID OC — a hybrid of automatic boost and manual overclocking that lets even entry-level processors boost as far as the silicon allows, not as far as the manufacturer allows.
- AMD PBO2 — full PBO2 control right from Windows, without a restart: Curve Optimizer for every core, PPT, TDC, EDC, temperature and clock limits and, for the first time, Curve Shaper and eCLK.
- SCAN NVIDIA and SCAN RADEON — automatic graphics card tuning under a real 3D load from my own Elemental2 benchmark.
- VANTA — a video memory test for NVIDIA and Radeon. On NVIDIA it catches even writes lost after memory retraining on GDDR6X, its error detection is on par with internal corporate tools, and its XBAR test, which loads the crossbar clock domain, has no equivalent. On Radeon it is the only program that reads the hardware EDC counters of video memory, so an unstable overclock shows up before real data errors.
- ELECTRIC DREAMS NIGHT BENCHMARK — the first state-of-the-art graphics card benchmark: a modern game-quality scene with an online scoreboard, not just simple synthetics.
- SCAN DRAM — automatic memory timing search, plus an ODT search on DDR5.
- DCFR — DRAM Calculator for Ryzen built into HYDRA: it shows every memory setting, calculates a Safe or Fast preset for DDR5 from the module's SPD and sends it straight to the motherboard.
- DRAM BENCH — a detailed enthusiast lab: cache and memory latency and bandwidth, latency distribution, comparison of runs.
- ANVIL — a memory test that knows the memory geometry and shows exactly where a failure happened.
- XOC for NVIDIA and Radeon — extended limits for power, memory clock and voltages, plus memory timing control on Radeon.
- NVIDIA TENSOR UNLOCK — full-rate FP16, BF16 and FP8 with FP32 accumulation on RTX 40.
- SQ AGENT — an assistant for processor tuning: it measures every core under load, shows which core holds back the others, reveals the silicon quality of each core and problems with heat transfer or leakage, and suggests Curve Optimizer corrections that you accept with a double-click.
- T-CONTROL — game threads on physical cores and on the right CCD.
- HGCI — a game smoothness score: hitches, FPS drops, shader stutter.
- NVIDIA CURVE EDITOR — NVIDIA's chip model, what exactly limits the clock, control of the additional XBAR, SYS and NVD domains, and V/F statistics.
- SAFETY SYSTEM and Phoenix — extra hardware protection and automatic continuation of a diagnostic after a crash or restart.
- HYDRA LINK — remote control from a phone, tablet or another computer: no other overclocking tool has it.
- MONITORING — thousands of sensors of the processor, memory, PMIC and graphics cards in no more than 10 ms per pass, thanks to low-level work with the hardware. That is several times lighter than Windows Task Manager.
- API/SDK — a powerful interface to HYDRA: with it, you can build your own tools together with AI.
What it gives you
- Tuning for your own processor, memory and graphics card, not an "average" preset.
- Protection from exceeding limits and continuation after a failure.
- Control of hidden Windows power settings through the HYDRA power plan in APPE.
- Honest documentation: limitations are described openly, even when they do not favor HYDRA.
- Regular updates with new features.
Not a collection of other people's work
Every feature starts with my own measurements on real hardware, not with someone else's code or forum retellings. The algorithms of HYDRA are my own work. Copying, decompilation and resale are prohibited by the license, whose terms are shown on the start screen.
